Not really a linguist, but in order to inspire you to travel, we present a Norwegian alphabet with lots of trivia and fun facts:

A–The Atlantic Road (in Norwegian called Atlanterhavsveien), known as one of the most amazing roadtrips in the world, is a 8.3-kilometer long route linking many coastal towns, which offers an open sea view with chances to spot whales and seals.

B–Biggest oil exporter in the world

Brown cheese, a famous cheese in Norway that has a caramel taste

Bunad, Norway’s traditional costume

C–Christian country

Cheese slicer was invented by a Norwegian called Thor Bjørklundtook

D–Doomsday Vault on the arctic island of Svalbard, a Norwegian government’s project to preserve plants seeds from around the world in case some of them should become extinct

F–Fjords, beautiful narrow inlets of the sea

Freia, a famous chocolate brand

G–Geirange, the fjord of all fjords, so beautiful that it’s on the UNESCO World Heritage list

V–Vikings and Vigelandspark, the largest sculpture park with 212 pieces created entirely by one single artist

W–Wood, Norwegian Wood is a famous international annual music festival. Norwegian Wood is also a best selling novel by Japanese author Haruki Murakami.

X–Predator X, the most fearsome animal ever lived under the sea. Its fossil remains got dug up on Svalbard, a Norwegian island close to the North Pole.

Y–Year 2005 Norway initiated a massive 15 year agenda to increase tourism. The government has turned to architects and designers to concept and build tourist routes and architectural rest stops to enhance the experience of the stunning Norwegian landscape (see amazing pictures of wonderful architectures in fjords here)

Z–Zero emission for the country is what Norway hopes to archive by 2050
